    It was a pleasant experience at Style Na! I’ve always prefer Korean salons as they give the kind of style I prefer. Went to the outlet at CompassOne a couple of times and had Luna work with my hair not for the first time. She does really nice styling, makes suggestions on suitable colours for my hair. No hard selling, which I like!

    I was walking past Style Na by Joel Park @ Compass One after dinner and decided to get a trim to shoulder length with layers to add volume at the back. Since this was a significant change, I specifically requested an experienced Korean hair stylist.

    However, instead of assigning me a skilled professional, they gave me Fiona, who turned out to be inexperienced and barely understood or spoke English. This immediately raised concerns, but I still patiently explained my request. She then showed me a picture on an iPad, and after confirming with her again that she could achieve that style, she confidently said yes. I trusted her big mistake.

    The hair wash was mediocre, there was no head massage, and at one point, the water temperature suddenly turned scalding hot, burning my scalp. That should have been my first warning sign, but I hoped the haircut would at least go well.

    It only got worse. Instead of using scissors to layer my hair properly, Fiona used a blade to drag and pull at my hair in the most painful and uncomfortable way possible. When I told her it hurt, she simply said it was for “more texture.” At that point, I was skeptical and uneasy, but I just prayed it wouldn’t turn out badly.

    After paying S$59.95, I was devastated to see that the final result looked NOTHING like the picture she showed me. My hair was choppy, uneven, and a complete mess. Left side was overly layered and the right side was a big whole chunk… it was absolutely ruined.

    To make matters even worse, when I asked for her name card, she casually told me she was a new stylist!

    If you treasure your hair, avoid this salon at all costs. The lack of skill, painful cutting technique, and complete disregard for my request made this an absolute waste of time and money. Never again!

    Stylist: A stylist should never use a customer’s hair as an experiment. If you’re inexperienced or unsure about a requested haircut, be honest instead of delivering a hesitant, poorly executed result.

    I recently visited this outlet for a haircut and had a disappointing experience with their mobile app rewards system. I had previously used my partner’s account, but after being told it wasn’t allowed, I updated the profile to my own information, as I can’t register a new account with the same number (which is my own number that I have now taken over). However, when I returned today, I was informed again that it was not permitted to use this account.

    The person handling this situation, who seemed to be in charge of the outlet (a Chinese aunty, not any of the hairstylist), repeatedly told me that each person must use their own account. However, when I asked if I needed to use a completely new number, my question wasn’t addressed. There was no clear explanation or helpful solution offered. I felt unfairly labeled as “cheap” for simply trying to use the app’s promotions. The lack of effective communication and willingness to help was really disappointing.

    While I understand that there are rules in place, it would have been much more helpful if they had taken the time to understand and provide a solution, rather than just repeating the same message. The haircut itself was fine, but the overall experience was overshadowed by the poor handling of this situation.

    Been to the salon few times, I think their service is okay, always satisfied with the end result of the haircut.
    But what I think can be improved if the stylists can be honest and inform prior to us agreeing on the service.
    I went with my girl, my girl having haircut and stylist proposed for hair treatment to which I agreed on the service and price.
    I later on asked for scalp treatment for myself, and the price was $70 for scalp treatment, 1 step. If add another step of mask treatment then price is $80 for 2 steps, which I have agreed on.

    Final cost there is another cost to shampoo and blow $33 added, which was not mentioned by the stylist at all.
    Wouldn’t shampoo and blow is normally inclusive when u get any scalp treatment?

    This is an additional cost which i was not informed about it. Otherwise I would not agreed on the extra cost. I can just shampoo and blow on my own at home.

    Which scalp treatment doesn’t come with wash and blow?

    I asked the hair stylist after the bill, and then only she said oh ya.. this is the extra cost.

    I have horrible dry damaged ugly hair and they fixed it thank u 😍😍🙏 she put alot of effert to cut carefully and professionally n she wash my hair and dried it very good and used a good styling technique for my hair!!
    My hair is now wowzz will be coming her to cut from now on

    saw all the other reviews & cannot explain how much it relates.

    booked a last min appointment for just a trim & wash. went in telling the lady (the manager Winnie) i wanted to just TRIM the ends & make my hair thinner, as well as wash & blow.

    First off, she was ridiculously violent & rough. is she trying to look cool as a stylist? because all she did was fling my hair repeatedly into my eyes & pull my head around. yes she is fast but DID NOT follow my instructions. she told me “will just trim the ends and shape abit since you dont have any layers.” so i said okay because i js wanted trim & thinning because of my thick hair. i already had a nice shape & length i like, just wanted to get the mess fixed up. I left the salon feeling okay but doubtful. i gave it the benefit of the doubt & told myself to trust the process, because she blew it out for me nicely at first. but take note hours after you leave its EXTREMELY messy. she makes my hair super curly in the blowout even though i always have and only like straight hair. she knew i had a center parting but KEPT REPEATEDLY giving me a side high volume parting which is ABSOLUTELY ridiculous & ugly. came home & i found out she cut so many layers that i can even tie my hair anymore because it is so short & layered that makes everything just falls out. the top of my head is sooo thick & puffy & the ends are so thin & flat because she only did thinning to my roots. i specifically said only trim the ends & she RESHAPED my curtain bangs that ive been trying to grow out for almost a year to match my hair length as i didnt want it anymore. now i have to deal with curtain bangs again, even worse is that my hair is now back to its original curl after rebonding weared off after a few years & is extremely hard to maintain. thanks to this lady i now have a hard time pulling off this ugly hairstyle. absolutely do not recommend coming here. she did not followed a single piece of instruction & it only looked good for the first hour. i have been trying so many ways to work with getting my bangs out of my face as well as tie up my hair properly for work. i am extremely frustrated & disappointed ever since i got home.

    in summarise for those wanting to go here:
    1. rough & violent (pulling ur head, doing it so quick that she will pull your whole head left & right)
    2. followed whatever she wanted at liked instead of what i asked for
    3. did it so quick yet jts so messy and ugly
    4. nothing like i imagined i wanted.

    whats your take on this Style Na by Joel Park?

    all i wanted was a trim, thinning & wash & blow out. but instead i left with unwanted layers, reshaping, drastic length changed, cutting my bangs as how you want even tho i didnt ask to touch the bangs (i taught she was trimming but now its shorter than i first got it even…) & most of all not even gentle in handling patients head & hair, does she think that im the mannequin & she’s practicing her speed on my head? im not in a rush, so why should she be when i have an appointment slot? next time i would rather pay $12 for KCuts. absolutely ridiculous.

    I have been going to Jenny for quite sometime. She always tend to ask me multiple times to ensure she doesnt make any mistake and let me know what kind of hair style is most recommended based on my looks. She is very professional to provide me with what my hair needs rather than just listening to my own demands

    I first got introduced to Korean stylist Lisa in 2022, and have never gone to another hairstylist since 🙂 I have also recommended her to my mum, sis, aunt and cousin – all of who found her good and have been going to her for hair services. 2 years on, and I would still highly recommend her! She is skilful, stylish, yet always considerate and meticulous. Lisa recently helped me do a perm, and I think it looked the best (out of 3-4 other perms I did before with other stylists). The curls turned out the way I wanted, so thank you Lisa!

    Also, stylist Lay was very meticulous and professional in assisting with the long perming process. It was overall a pleasant experience, thanks to both Lisa and Lay! 🙂

    Js had my haircut on 14 Sep and I’m ok with the Downperm but I’m not sure whether is it a proper procedure Becuz they js put the cream on and js wash it after 20 mins, I thought there will be Downperm paper on , but besides that I went for the promotion 98 for haircut + Downperm I thought after my Downperm there would be haircut but they didn’t ask me whether I would want to trim my fringe. But it’s ok it’s js for my experience
