Great lunch time get away. Multi-storey spa that is quiet and inexpensive. Recommended.

I was about to leave a one-star review due to the lack of accommodation and the receptionist’s impatience. I waited in the room for 30 minutes and there was still no therapist. When someone eventually arrived, I asked to be provided with a different therapist, but the receptionist just seemed irritated and refused.

I ended up leaving a two-star review because the receptionist was quick to give me a refund.

I am quite picky with massages and have to say my massage was pretty high up there in terms of quality of technique and ability to find knots and sore points and work through them. Seems like not everyone had the same experience with their masseuse. Be sure to ask for massage therapist Ouyang and you won’t be disappointed.

I have been a regular with Palace for many years. The only massage therapist whom I would engage is Ouyang. To me, she is a massage therapist and not a masseuse because she genuinely knows how to work my muscles and other soft tissues of my body. It never fails to amaze me the myriad of techniques she possesses – deep tissue, elbow kneading, back-stepping, scraping with a wooden pole, etc. All I know is that she is more than capable to address my chronic neck, shoulders and back issues. One session with her and I am fully rejuvenated and good as new! I am a biased and sated client. ?

A lot of stairs to get to the room. A lot of different techniques were used for the massage.

Went for a massage with my partner

We went without an appointment but managed to get our massage with just a quick 10 min wait

Massage was more of a tui na style, slightly painful at certain points but not in a bad way

    Felt really relaxed afterwards

Had the Oriental full body message and have to say this was REALLY full body because I felt every muscle of my body (excluding the feed which were not done) got treatment. Usually there is more focus on the back and neck area so I liked the overall flow. Studio overall was clean and comfortable, nothing special.

The message was more for the relaxing aspect because the pressure used was not so strong in my case. I liked it but for people looking for a bit more pressure it might not be the right thing. But depends on the Masseur obviously.

I have been a regular client of Palace Therapy for many years and consistently schedule my appointments around one particular therapist’s availability. Ouyang is a highly skilled, extremely professional therapist who is extremely knowledgable in traditional Chinese treatments. it doesn’t matter how late in the day my appointment is, she is always welcoming, putting in a lot of effort to remedy my ills and help me feel the best I can. Always treating me with respect, I often recommend her to my colleagues, friends and family in Singapore. A therapist of total , unquestionable integrity, please treat her with the respect she has earned over her many years in Singapore. If you don’t and then get firmly and loudly rejected and embarrassed by your actions, move on.

So I decided to try this place after my partner’s fantastic review of their massage techniques. Unfortunately my experience turned out to be a weird one.

As many mentioned in reviews, the receptionist is unfriendly. She talks as if doing a favor to you. There is no service attitude at all. When I asked about difference between oriental massage and aromatherapy massage, she said oriental is oriental and aromatherapy is aromatherapy?

Anyways, moving to the massage part, the messuse was good in technique but you have to tell her to go light on you, she will not bother asking you that?

And here comes the weirdest part, after the massage was done, she left the room for exactly 1 min, did not say anything except “ok done” and then she opened the door while I was changing and said she has another customer so she need to change the sheet etc. she did not apologized and did not leave the room while I was changing !!!!? I am a private person and this was quite uncomfortable for me.

I liked their technique for massage but I think you can find it at many places in Singapore. I would not recommend going here if you are looking for a relaxing or decent massage place.

Recommended by a friend to try this massage place at the heart of Telok Ayer/Chinatown area.

Palace Therapy Spa exudes a luxurious comfortable massage place with individual rooms and professional bed (for resting of head within when facing down).

Was served by a massage therapist by the name of OuYang whom was very skillful and precise with her massage as she knead and “elbowed” my soreness and tight muscles away due to golfing.

She was constantly consulting me on her strength utilised to ensure I can sustain the treatment. She even bothered to share the linkages of typical left shoulder/neck muscle/lower back strain arising from golfing as she had provided therapy to many golfers when back at China.

Overall, I would recommend this massage place for the ambience and cleaniness. Do book OuYang for specific and targeted muscle tightness/soreness as her therapy skill level is rather impressive for a non TCM therapy place.

Would not recommend this massage joint at all. I have been here on multiple occasions and have received really bad service from both recep and massage therapists. One of them was using her phone while using one hand to massage my right shoulder and dropped her phone on the bed (next to my torso). I felt the device placed next to me and questioned her if she was using her phone then, she said she was using two hands and asked if I see a third hand on her… when my partner went for a massage on his own, I was told that he was offered “extra services”.

Really wouldn’t recommend this place if you’re looking for a clean and professional massage outlet. There are much better joints out there.
