    Kak Ibit was very kind to accommodate to a same day request. Very pleasant on phone and in person. This place is very cosy. My stylist is Janice. I like how she handles my hair to the best of my interest. My first time here, might be back for future haircuts! Thank you both

    I have been coming to this salon for my haircut, wash & blow, as well as scalp treatment. The staff are very warm, friendly abd bubbly. My go-to Muslimah salon on the northeast side always.

    I booked an appointment for a haircut, wash, and blow-dry on a Monday afternoon. I arrived a little early—around 5pm for my 5:30pm slot. Once I got there, the hairstylist immediately started checking my scalp. I’ve always associated scalp analysis with treatments, not standard haircuts—right? I’ve been to plenty of salons, both Muslimah-friendly and non-Muslimah, so I kind of know the drill.

    I already knew my scalp was dry and flaky, so I wasn’t surprised when the stylist pointed it out. She recommended a scalp treatment right away, starting with one that cost over $200—which I declined because it was just too expensive. Then she suggested a $95 “scalp scrub” instead. Honestly, it didn’t feel worth the price. My scalp didn’t feel any different afterward, and she didn’t even do a follow-up check to see if there was any improvement.

    Then came the haircut. My hair is JUST past shoulder length, definitely not near bra strap level, yet I was charged for “XL length.” I asked about how they determine the different lengths and pricing, and she showed me their categories—apparently “S” means your hair only reaches your cheeks? It didn’t make much sense and felt inconsistent.

    I came in just wanting a decent haircut, but somehow got talked into the scrub as well. The cut itself felt rushed and lacked precision. I had asked for layers, but they turned out looking choppy and disconnected. I had to ask her to blend them in, and if I hadn’t requested a mirror to check the back of my hair, I wouldn’t have noticed the unevenness. Isn’t it standard practice to show clients the back with a handheld mirror?

    To top it off, I felt like she was rushing my haircut— because another customer was waiting and apparently the other stylist couldn’t do cuts.

    All in all, I’m not sure it was money well spent—$95 for a scrub that didn’t really feel like a scrub, and $60 for a so-so “XL” haircut. I’ve definitely received better service and results at regular salons for a lower price. Maybe that’s why they make you sign a pricing agreement beforehand—I signed it thinking I’d be getting service that matched the price tag.

    And just to add, during my session, another stylist was talking on the phone about a previous customer who had questioned and complained about the pricing. I could hear the entire conversation over the music and through the curtains—not exactly the most welcoming vibe

    I was privileged to have been served by stylist Janice and Mdm Ibit on 18 Apr 25. I have been a regular patron of Karva since it opened its 1st outlet at East Village. Since then, I have always looked forward to my visits. Your staff – in particular, stylist Jessica, Mdm Ibit and stylist Janice – have a knack for making their customers feel comfortable with their heartwarming smile, genuine care for their customers’ interests and warm hospitality. Visits to Karva is always my much-needed stress-relief therapy.:) Please keep up the good work!

    Lack of proper communication and rude staff. First I was told there was no restriction on hairlength for the promotional offer. I went and they were constantly talking amongst themselves and it was rude.

    Would request to please have proper communication about the information you are imparting to your customer.

    I think among all muslimah salon, i think only this outlet does a decent haircut. I almost wanted to give up with all the muslimah salon. This was my last straw ahah & also The stylist help to color my hair nicely despite not able to choose my color as i didnt wanna do bleaching.

    Only downside the price is too expensive.

    This was my first visit to Karva for a haircut, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. My last haircut was back in August, and since my hair grows quite quickly, I decided to book an appointment at the SGM outlet. Jessica was fantastic! She frequently checked in to see if I needed any drinks, and when she noticed I was sweating, she kindly used a hair dryer to help cool me down.

    I’ve always wanted to go for a shorter hairstyle, and Jessica made sure to cut it to the perfect length. Without me even having to mention it, she understood that I wanted it shorter. Throughout the process, she paid close attention to ensuring the length was just right and took special care to prevent any poofiness, given my wavy hair.

    Jessica left a wonderful first impression on me, and I was truly impressed by her outstanding service. For my next appointment, I will definitely request her again. Thank you, Jessica and the entire Karva team! ♥️

    My 2nd time at the Sengkang Grand Mall outlet. Attended by Janice and Ibit. They were both very friendly and attentive. I love how my hair colour turned out. Blow dried my hair beautifully too.

    I did the scalp treatment. Firstly i was so shock at how pricy it is. I paid $210 just for scalp treatment when i can pay the same price doing hair and scalp treatment together with a haircut at another place. Initially, the person wanted me to do the $300 scalp treatment 😐 There was a lot of hard selling also. Did not feel very welcomed for a first time visit and i got my dress wet they did not put the towels properly and kept getting the soap on my face too. The only thing that is nice is the hair washing and the scrub they put. Convenient location though.

    I wanted to go for a quick haircut at Sengkang Grand Mall but Janice was more concerned on my hair condition. Throughout the session, she was very gentle and accommodating. It was nice talking to her too!

    Ikha did a good job with styling my hair and highlights. The downside is the waiting time. My appointment is at 1 p.m., and they started the job only at 2:10 p.m.

    It would be good if they had more staff so that my time would not be delayed.

    Jessica was very friendly and offered helpful advice on my hair. Took their July promo for Kerastase Fusio Dose. Was charged extra for XXL hair which at first i was okay but when after appointment, i checked their promo online, they wrote $98 for all lengths so im not sure why i was charged extra. Would suggest more clarity when promoting their promotion and deals 🙂 but nevertheless, i am still satisfied with the service. Will come back again, maybe for just a cut/wash/blow 🙂

    I recently visited Karva Salon at Buangkok for a Hijab-friendly hairstyle and hair coloring, and I couldn’t be happier with the results! I was served by hairstylists Jess and Ibit, who were both incredibly professional and attentive to my needs. They made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire process, and their expertise really showed in the final look.

    The salon provided a private and relaxing environment, perfect for hijab-wearing clients. Jess and Ibit took the time to understand exactly what I wanted and delivered beyond my expectations. The color turned out beautifully, and the style was exactly what I had in mind.

    I was so impressed with their service that I decided to sign up for a package. I’m looking forward to my future visits and would highly recommend Kahlua Salon to anyone looking for a hijab-friendly and top-notch salon experience. Thank you, Jess and Ibit, for the wonderful service!
