    HONEST REVIEW? (READ THIS BEFORE YOU GO)

    Today is my 5th in-office treatment with Imago Aesthetics. I signed up for a 4+1 sylfirmx micro-needling package at Imago Aesthetics (Centrepoint branch). I was here today for my last session at Ang Mo Kio branch as the doctors at Centrepoint were apparently not available this month (understandably as it is december, even doctors need time with their families). What I will be relating to you next is a rather shocking experience in my opinion.

    Since it was my first time entering this branch’s office in amk hub, I was unfamiliar with the surroundings. I was promptly guided to a seat upon entering. The clinic was surprisingly empty apart from myself, the doctor, and his 2 assistants. As I was under the impression that these are skin doctors (dermatologists), I wanted to ask a few questions to the doctor. The doctor in question is Dr Vincent L (not revealing his last name is the last act of courtesy I will extend to him). He is a rather dark-skinned man, with a slightly amusing look, but what I should have taken as the first sign to leave, was his pockmarked face, which I presume was due to acne scarring, and his uneven skin texture. “Was i supposed to let this guy treat my face?”, i thought. My principles told me not to judge a book by its cover, so of course I try not think too much of it. As I was let into the doctor’s room, Dr Vincent made it very clear of his no-nonsense, straightforward way of approach by telling me:
    1. he’s a GP, not a dermatologist
    2. he’s not charging a consultation fee for my questions
    3. he’s doing this as a “favour”
    Now before I continue, I have no problem paying a consultation fee for my 3-4 questions relating to dermatology (skin), but I was never made aware of this during my time in the Centrepoint branch with Dr Luther. He made it easy for me to ask him any questions relating to my skin (what he is treating), and spared no expense to elaborate on his answers. Now let’s see how my interaction with Dr Vincent L went.

    The first question was about how I can achieve a stronger jawline: to use fillers or fat melting. He made clear of his stance against fillers, and recommended HIFU to achieve what I want.
    I then asked him whether HIFU could “yellow” my skin, based on reviews I have heard about from my friends. Dr Vincent seemed to find it amusing, stating in his 13 years of experience he have never heard of it, and to further discredit my statement, he proceeded to search it up on his computer and said he could find nothing about my concern online. He then added some crude remark about yellowing skin possibly being hepatitis. I then concluded the topic and asked him, “Okay, so based on what I want to achieve, you’ll recommend HIFU correct?”, he said yes. I then touched on 2-3 more questions relating to my skincare and hair. To my skincare query, his reply was short, sweet and dismissive, “I can’t give you an answer”, then mumbled something about this not being his field of expertise. To my question relating to hair, he once again said this is not his expertise and gave me a name, “Dr Ma”. Not long after I pulled out my phone and typed “Dr Ma” into it, he mentioned something along the lines of “When people ask me question I just answer I don’t give them a recommendation blahblahblah”. After this short yet informative enough for me to tell what kind of person I am dealing with, I decided to cut it short and end my misery. I went ahead and got prepared for the pre-procedure steps done by his assistants. His assistants were great, making sure I felt comfortable and was tender during face cleansing and application of numbing cream.

    Now it is time for the treatment itself, instead of the doctor pulling the machine into my treatment room (like they always do), I was told to get out of my room and into his office (the same office where I had my conversation with him earlier). I try my best to keep my review objective but c’mon Dr Vincent, are you that lazy? Usually right before they start the procedure the doctor will show me it is a new set of needles. No, this doctor just started. I am not sure if this is against the company / medical SOP, but I am now stating, this happened. Procedure went as per normal, but the funny thing was that it lasted about half the usual procedure duration. Not sure if he wasn’t as detailed as the previous doctors or he just couldn’t care less and wanted to get it over and done with. After the procedure, I was never told to apply any creams at home to reduce inflammation even though the Centrepoint branch have never failed to make sure they inform me before I left the clinic. Anyway, procedure was over, I signed a form and got out of the place as fast as possible.

    Usually, I am someone who voices my concerns and displeasure right there and then. But given the circumstances, seeing how he has the ability to botch the procedure and ruin my face, I have been nothing but polite the whole time I was in that clinic. But of course I rushed to make this review as soon as I could.

    As an objective person, though what you’ve heard is fairly negative, there are good sides to this company as well. Remember how I signed a package of 4+1 sessions? My first 4 sessions were at Imago (Centrepoint branch), first 3 sessions were performed by Dr Luther who I would like to commend, for his friendliness, tenderness, and always willing to address your concerns attitude. My 4th session was with Dr Su, who was also very informative, gentle, and addressed my queries well. Both of them have left the company from what I have understood. (I am starting to think they have made the right choice in doing so)
    We’ve all heard of constructive criticism, but take note: this is not criticism, this is a complaint.
    Imago Aesthetics, I don’t know why your doctors are leaving, but hopefully this complaint can give you an insight on why your customers at AMK branch are leaving. Wouldn’t say it was a pleasure to meet you Dr Vincent, but take care in your future endeavours!

    I handled by Dr Mark and Dr Luther both doctors are very detailed, they don’t anyhow execute the job, they will explain and do the job thoroughly. Please keep up the good job and make the customer feel comfortable. They also have a good and caring assistant.

    5 stars no enough 🤗, I am very happy with the team at IMAGO! Doc is very friendly and caring. He explains in detail even though I do not understand at times, but he is very patient to repeat to help me understand 😊🙏 and he is very true to his words, making my face become glowing like now. I also want to thank the staff Jenny n Cath, they are very friendly 🤗👍 highly recommended as no hard sales and always able to make my appointments. Very happy customer….

    Chanced upon this aesthetic clinic while doing my cellulite bamboo massage with Chrysalis Spa. As I am a lover for aesthetic treatments, I walk in to try their carbon peel laser at $95.04. Doctor was young, handsome and very caring and counter staff was professional n friendly. Hehehehehe…. Skin was glowing after the treatment. Not hard selling at all. Thumbs up!

    I first visit Imago Aesthetics Clinic on May 2022. My journey with them is a short 6mths since then, I have no regrets! Only regret not finding them earlier. I tried a few of their treatments, and it’s works very well for my acne scars that have been troubling me for years. Dr Xiao is very friendly and he recommend me treatment that will help smoothen my skin. The staff there are very friendly too especially Eunice! No hard selling at all. And, the price is reasonable as well! 😊

    Doctor Xiao is super friendly and great and absolutely wonderful, and that’s the only reason this place gets a STAR. Unfortunately their staff’s follow up is HORRENDOUS, I keep trying to get an appointment but NEVER get one. Either their business is too good, their under staffed, or I am considered a small spender and not given enough priority. I am trying to want to be a regular customer but can’t since I can never seem to be able to get an appointment to get a chance to walk through their doors. Guess I am bringing myself to other clinics. Sad though, really love Doctor Xiao.

    1st thank consultant Wang Hong, she is patient and not a pushy kind of person, 2nd thank Dr xiao for his authentic advise that now what my look is10yrs younger on current age of 55yrs old, I been follow him for 4yrs and he is professional and never disappointed the expect that u want to be..

    I have done my REJURAN I after a month photo, no Pandan🐼 eye, say bye-bye to eye concealer , Thanks to doctor recommendation 🙏 and staff working at IMAGO never let customer disappointed on their service, specially is Wang Hong alway smiling on her face, and will still visit them again…

    I Have done my nose , so don have to highlight my nose area make it look sharp, the photo posted instantly can see the difference , It doesn’t any pain with Dr xiao skill now I am happy with my nose and bring my face features look 👍 good then will bring luck to me ..haha

    Been with Angel for 7 years (way before she joined IMAGO). Was referred to her via my mom’s friend (at her old work place). Great skills (手工很好) + experienced, very patient and nice lady. She watched me “grew up” from a teenager to a young adult today. I only trust her to do my brows and lashes!! Look for her to do your eyebrows & lashes – once you’re with her, you won’t look for others anymore.
