    I went to GJ for my haircut because of all the google reviews I’d read that raved about his skills. I can genuinely say he’s one of the best hairstylists I’ve been to. He cut my hair exactly the way I imagined/asked for, and he gave a wonderful head massage when he was washing my hair. I can’t go anywhere else for my haircut now! Thank you GJ!

    G.J has been my hairstylist for many years and I always find him for colouring especially. He know how to find the best colour for your hair condition and existing colour remained in the hair

    I’ve been going to GJ for my hair, and I couldn’t be happier! He’s always so gentle and easy to talk to, which makes the whole experience really enjoyable. No matter what style or look I’m aiming for, he always nails it perfectly. On top of that, he gives amazing tips on how to care for and style my hair at home. And honestly, the head massage during the shampoo? Absolutely heavenly! Highly recommend GJ if you’re looking for a stylist who truly listens and delivers fantastic results!

    Ethan is my regular stylist and he does my hair to perfection, be it a blunt bob or a perm. He is also very attentive to details. I highly recommend his services and will always come back to him for my hair needs.

    GJ has done a great and professional job with my girls’ haircuts since we started with him more than 6 months ago! One daughter wanted to go from long straight hair to a very different layered cut – based on a picture she found online – and GJ patiently transformed her hair and it’s made such a difference to her look. There’s so much more volume and texture. The other staff that help out with hair washing are also worth commending.

    I had an amazing experience at Shunji Matsuo! I came in with badly highlighted hair, and my hairstylist GJ worked absolute magic. He started with a detailed consultation, taking the time to really understand what I wanted while offering professional advice on how to fix the mess. What I appreciated most was how he made sure I was completely comfortable with the process and the price before starting—no surprises at all!

    The end result? My hair has never looked better. GJ’s skills are top-tier, and I left the salon feeling confident and refreshed. If you’re looking for a stylist who genuinely cares about his craft and his clients, GJ is the one. I’ll definitely be back! Highly recommend! 🌟

    Update: Thx for the PR reply but I’ve emailed you twice and there was no reply. This makes the whole experience even more distasteful.

    Wanted to like this salon and been back multiple times, but the past 2 times were just really unsatisfactory. When I asked for a haircut of 2 inches, the stylist didn’t even shift my hair layers and it ended up looking so chunky. I went back a month later to correct the cut, and he explained to me why it’s chunky and said he will shift the layers up now. Do they expect their customers to instruct them on such a basic thing? I ended up paying for this recut, and the hair turned out much thinner than i wld like. I also wanted to even out my hair colour, and the dye just turned out much darker than I expected, and it was not even too – top brighter than the bottom, when originally my hair was brighter at the bottom. You really need to take pains to communicate and give instructions to ensure you get the look you want, bcos they may not know best or take the effort to really understand what you’re looking for.

    Exceptional service from GJ and the team. GJ was extremely patient despite me not knowing what hairstyle I wanted and provided great recommendations. Not only did he give me a great haircut taking into account how the hair would look as it grows, he also demonstrated step-by-step how to style my hair for different occasions. The lady who handled the hair rinsing was very attentive as well.

    I’ve been going to jack for over 5 years and he has been nothing but good. He always asks me what kind of hairstyle I prefer and can remember it even if I don’t come for 2 months. Furthermore, the way he attends to and cuts my hair is something that I struggle to find elsewhere and so, it’s only natural that I am a recurring customer of his. Give him a shot!

    Bro Boon is an approachable and down to earth hairstylist whom I have been to for my haircut the past 4 years. He knows my preferences and is able to produce a hairstyle that suits my face. Two Thumbs Up to him for handling my “hard to manage” curly hair really well.

    This was my second visit here(Holland v branch) and for sure the worst experience so far of a haircut in Singapore.
    The senior stylist assigned to me did not speak any English which is completely fine as long as there is any possible way of communication but the hairstylist was just too indifferent. I kept trying to tell that the haircut was not looking clean/ good but the hair stylist did not understand at all. Eventually the hair stylist called some other stylist twice to understand what he was doing wrong in a simple back brush style haircut.
    He even forgot to cut my side burns and just wanted to move on to the next customer
    At the counter I told the store manager (along with the other hairstylist who intervened to help) of the issues but they did not seem to care at all.
    Worst possible experience that too before the holiday season

    Jack has been cutting my hair for the last 18 months or so. He is always punctual and more importantly knows exactly what I want. He doesn’t over cut my hair and does really good work. Highly recommended

    It is my absolutely preferred hair salon. After years of searching for the ultimate haircut in Singapore I found this. My hair condition is not the best but the competence of Jack Tan makes me more than satisfied.

    After trying a few hairdressers in the area, I was relieved to have found Jack. My hair was dry and damaged from using the wrong products over many years and I was always too intimidated to think of colouring it. I’d been recommended lots of different products over the years to fix my dry hair, tried them but nothing ever seemed to work… until Jack recommended me a specific shampoo and conditioner. Within months I had healthy hair and was confident enough to colour it. His colouring is art… very natural and always allowed my hair to grow out gracefully without the urgency of a touch up. I’m always happy with the haircuts I’ve had. I highly recommend Jack if you have lost faith in managing your hair (like I did before I saw him)!

    The first time I came here to get my hair dyed, there was an old Chinese man who was rude and arrogant. He didn’t follow the customer’s requirements and couldn’t understand English. He was also impatient🙄️ and during the hair dyeing process, I accidentally saw him behaving very badly towards the little girl in the shop. What’s wrong with you? I don’t mind writing an email to MOM complain about this Chinese man!

    I am lucky met GJ without doing any research and appointment in advance for the first time went to this hair salon.

    He gave me a very suitable and cute new hairstyle. GJ is an excellent hairdresser. I do like he gave me professional suggestions especially when I have no idea about what I want. 😉

    Ethan has been my stylish for the past ten years and he has always coloured my hair perfectly and it turns out great every single time. He knows the style and colour that I prefer (even though sometimes I would only roughly describe). Please look for him when you visit Shunji Matsuo at Holland V!
