    I had a disappointing experience at Pro Trim Jem on Sunday October 3, 2024. I visited around 4 PM and was attended to by the manager, Chris. I asked for a trim, specifying that I wanted to maintain my waist-length hair and requested a cut to bra length. I made it clear that I didn’t want anything too short, especially for my fringe.
    Chris seemed to understand at first, signaling a 3-inch cut with a comb. However, the result was far from what I asked for. My hair is now at shoulder length, completely disregarding my request for bra length. I’ve spent three years growing my hair, and to see it cut so drastically is incredibly disheartening.
    Furthermore, the fringe was cut way above my eyebrows, which is not what I wanted at all. A good hairstylist should listen to their clients, cut slow if you must and check with the customer from time to time and understand what suits their face shape. This basic principle was clearly overlooked.
    I left feeling distressed rather than satisfied, and I won’t be returning to this salon. Remember, Hair takes time to grow back, and now I’ll have to wait at least a year to get back to my desired length. I do not recommend this shop if you value your hair and want to feel heard as a customer.

    I thought i could sleep this off but this haircut is really horrible, i asked for fringe like the top pic and the bottom is what i got, and paid 49 dollars for this haircut? If i wanted bowl cut i would have done it myself. Go at your own risk.

    I have been consistently heading back to Protrim for their hair cut. It’s been a life changer. From service to hair styles. And very professional work staff.

    Stylist: My stylist was Lily.

    She’s very professional, recommends hair cuts for my style and checks in on my preferences throughout the session. She’s kind and understanding.

    I have been going there since March 2024 and I am confident to recommend Lily.

    This is the only place where I don’t regret cutting my hair even though it is a bit on the expensive side even with the student discount. If you have the budget, it is one of the best places.

    The good points are
    – good communication
    – no hard-selling
    – transparency
    – excellent results

    I usually go there for two block undercut and sometimes perm.

    835pm: We stepped into the salon, the receptionist just ignored us only to be greeted politely by a hairdresser. Checked if ok for a slot, receptionist in black rudely says a loud ‘No’! U should put a sign closed instead of putting online at 930pm.

    Gonna sound like a huge Karen here but its for a genuine reason. Bear with me.

    Attached photos just to show you how badly they did my hair. First photo is my hair two days before I had it cut, second photo is the haircut i wanted (literally just my old hair. I basically just asked for a trim. Nothing too hard to stylise for the barber.), and third photo is the haircut they gave me.

    I went from looking like a hot jpop model to bowlcut lesbian from temu.

    I gave a clear reference image (LITERALLY JUST MY OLD HAIR, NOTHING EVEN FANCY), told them not to cut it too short, and asked that they leave my bangs on.

    They. Did. NONE OF THAT.

    And to top it off? *I SPENT 61 DOLLARS ON THIS.* And this bowlcut is the best they can do? You’re kidding me.

    Not worth it. If you care for your hair at all, find another salon. Unless you’re a fan of that bowlcut look.

    Edit: Hair does look somewhat better after some styling on my own. Still not close to what I asked for, but I’m not looking like as much of a goof anymore. Moved rating from 1 to 2 stars for this.

    Edit two: Back to one star. The hair is like half an inch off at the back on one side. The barber didn’t even try. I’ll be stuck with this miserable hairdo for at least a couple months until I grow back the length necessary to fix this. This is awful.

    Following an initial visit that left me disappointed with the result, Starla took the initiative to contact me regarding my concerns and successfully followed up with a satisfactory recovery plan. I am truly grateful and pleased with the outcome of the second visit. I intend to continue patronizing her for future hair services. Starla is a very pleasant, friendly hairdresser who patiently explains everything to me.

    I’ve never had a satisfactory haircut in Singapore, so I’m cautious about going to the hair salon.
    I was passing by and just asked the price, but the short-haired Korean woman at the counter explained it very well.
    After giving birth, I was suffering from hair loss, and they kindly gave me advice on how to improve it. Thanks to that, I have a doctor to visit 👍🏻👍🏻

    Starla was very chatty and she spoke to me a lot and made sure I was very comfortable from beginning to the end. The lady who washed my hair was also very skilful but I didn’t get her name. The colouring is for black hair and the effect is achieved for my grey and silver hair.

    my first time at pro trim hair salon, i was served by senior stylist lily! she was very patient in explaining each step as she styled my hair and i was extremely satisfied with the result. she was also very helpful in giving me advice on hair care when i asked, and was very friendly! hair wash was also amazing & the stylist explained the products she used, but didn’t manage to get her name 🙁 thank you pro trim!!

    I got my haircut by both Starla and Queenie. Both were very good at their jobs.

    Both were able to provide their views on my hair, helping me make my final decisions for my haircut and as well as my hair health.

    Starla, in particular even though she wasn’t very fluent in English, tried to help me with my haircut with her best effort. Which I very much appreciated.

    Randomly picked a hair salon to have a trim. Had the worst hair cut of my life. I just wanted a trim and the hair stylist chopped off 70% of my hair! My hair ends were all zig zagged! Hair wash was horrible, the water got all over my face and when she wrapped my hair in the towel, my wet hair was dripping wet from my face. And my collar was all wet from the hair wash! The scissor got caught in my hair multiple times resulting in some tugging of my hair, this is the first time I experienced this having had my hair cut throughout my life. I think the hair stylist has no respect for this profession! Kept mentioning that my hair is very dry trying to get me to do treatment and colour touch up. Am so annoyed throughout the whole session and I just want to leave asap! I will never recommend this hair salon to anyone.

    Starla is bubbly, patient and even though she can’t speak fluent english, she tries her very hardest to communicate with the customers and achieving the hairstyle they want! The entire haircut was very comfortable and very pleased with the haircut!

    Had a haircut with Starla who was really friendly and easy to talk to. There is a communication barrier but she is able to look at your reference photos to understand what look you are going for and executes it well. She makes sure to ask regarding length before trimming any section shorter. She also gave tips on how to style the haircut. Thank you Starla! 🙂

    Was served by Starla, who was very friendly and professional. Small talks broke the ice, and she was able to get the haircut that I wanted. She maintained very good customer service and smiled throughout the haircut session. Overall, she did a very good job with delivering a satisfactory haircut!
