Very hard selling services. They will keep on push you to buy packages. Even you just sign last service and my package still have few hundred dollar to use. I feel stress when I make appointment. hope the Takashimaya management will do something about their upsell service at this luxury shopping mall.

BEWARE OF HARD-SELLING & THINK TWICE BEFORE ENGAGING THEIR SERVICES!!

I specially arranged a date with my 5yo daughter and have our nails done up for CNY.

However, to my horror, they keep hard selling, even after I said “no” & “is okay I don’t need it”, they still continue to sell a different tier package. I was with my daughter and she wanted to go off so I agreed to it after the long pestering.

Later that night, I contacted them via WhatsApp and contact page that I didn’t want the package anymore as I really feel uncomfortable. And after calling them 4 times and 1 week later, i they finally got back to me with “no, they can’t refund”.

Don’t get me wrong – the people are nice and friendly. But the constant attempt to upsell, force sell, hard sell is plain annoying.

A lot of surcharges. Hard sales

The most overcharging nail saloon I have ever been. The surcharges are just ridiculous. The “free” stuffs they can offer just to make you to sign a package are signs that they are probably running a “scam”. To avoid unnecessary argument and endless hard sellings, I signed the smallest package, which is already 1600 SGD. Intend to use it and say bye bye to this shop forever. It ruined the reputation and the trustworthy feeling that I usually get from this reputable shopping center and the whole shopping experience which is supposed to be relaxing and happy. Intend to write a letter to Ngee Ann City management to share this experience and the damage this shop is doing its brand.

Debbie and Evelyn are so friendly and they are very skilled. I enjoyed my time with them everytime I drop by for my mani and pedi.

Had classic mani done today, I really appreciate Helen’s service, felt comfy with her and will definitely look for her for future services. There was a little selling, but I explained to her that I was a little tight this month, and it all ended well. No awkwardness etc.

after i bought their package, service dropped.

Manicurist i met, file my feet’s and hard sell their products to add on, making experience very uncomfortable. keep telling me off how she cannot do with my package when i just ask her to file off my white skin. i wonder.

Went down today to utilize a Fave voucher for Classic Manicure and Classic Pedicure with a friend of mine. It was really easy to make the appointment via phone. The place looked classy and is located conveniently.

They had tried to have me and my friend seat separately, but when i requested we sit together because there were 2 open seats side by side so we could chat with each other, they happily obliged after we insisted on sitting together.

Had previously read other comments in regard to the hardselling of services/add-ons/packages but the salon responded with how they would review and improve their services so i decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, when i went down today i found that it truly did hold up to what the other reviews said. Firstly, they kept pushing to add a seasalt soak, which we initially declined, citing it was too expensive, but they kept pushing for us to add it and even dropping the price of it for us. We eventually relented just to get them off our backs about it and thought that would be the end of the hardselling, but it was far from over.

Next, they kept commenting about how my nails were really long and kept asking if i wanted to cut it. I had told them multiple times to not cut it as i like my long nails. The manicurist working on my friend’s hands then said that i would have to top up another $15 if i did not wish to cut my nails as they were “too long and they charge extra for long nails” I found this completely outrageous as i have never been asked to pay extra just for having long nails in my 15 years of having my nails done. They were my natural nails and not acrylics or extention nails. I refused to pay extra for having “long nails” and had them cut my nails to a length they deemed acceptable instead. For reference, my nails were about 2cm at longest on my middle and ring fingers, and they are at 1.6cm now after they had cut it. They had only trimmed a tiny bit off 2 – 3 fingers on each of my hands but it felt like they were just trying to get us to pay more for random reasons which was really off putting.

Additionally, they had commented about how the nail colour my friend had selected was a “new bottle/colour that had arrived yesterday” and that they would normally charge extra for it because it was a new colour but would let her have it for free this time around. This was really upsetting to hear because we had booked a mani/pedi session to relax and de-stress but instead we were constantly told about extra costs for everything…

The same lady had tried to ask my friend about what language i was speaking, and also asked me “why does your mandarin sound like that?” … Honestly it just felt uncomfortable but i tried to laugh it off

Hardselling and snide comments aside, the manicurist working on my hands was pretty skilled. Colour was evenly applied and nails were nicely shaped. Although she did give me an Express manicure instead of a Classic. There was no cutting of cuticles or cuticle oil applied to my hands. Literally only got a trim, shaped and colour applied. (My friend had received classic mani/pedi for hers with cuticles cut and cuticle oil applied) I don’t remember much about my feet asides from it hurting a tad when she was cutting the cuticle but it is nicely coloured.

The hand and feet massages were really nice and were the best part of the service!

Personally, i will not be returning because of the snide comments, uncomfortable experience and hardselling of services.

I went to doll my nails the night before my flight just to have the nails dropped off one by one within 4 hours.
The 1st thumb nails fell off at within 4hours.

Subsequent ones fell down the next day before my flight and the rest later that afternoon. I flew out for an event hence it has caused me many inconveniences.

The set of manicured nails cost over $300 including a simple set of gel pedicure.

How? Is it worth the money and workmanship? You be the judge!

I was charged $18 per embellishments if i remembered correctly! Worst experience ever! I still have package with them. Yes they do SELL! ALOT! They will add Sea Salt without telling you extra charge. They will nag and nag how bad your nails is and that you need this and that and that and they will repeat during your session.

Oh have i mentioned they will always post photos of nice nails photo and when i go to the putket at Taka they always say not done by this outlet not sure which outlet did. This colour dont have. That embellishment don’t have etc etc. I tried contacting the office via IG but they refused to reply which outlet too. Poor management? Lack of manpower? Or just dont care?

This place gives quality products . After my Fave coupons were utilized , I was on the verge of signing a package with them.

However , it was marred by a very rude staff from the Ngee Ann branch who was rude and her offensive remarks were a put off

    What a shame …

I’ve been here twice now and it’s because the nail techs do a wonderful job with the manicures and pedicures. They are remarkably skilled at nail art and can actually paint freehand very well. You won’t get a cartoonish bad version of what you see in the samples . You will get what you choose.

The reason why I give it a 1star rating is because the idea of getting a manicure and pedicure is about the experience of relaxation and self reward. A moment of time where it’s about doing something nice for yourself after a rat race. But here at this salon, the hard selling of packages just robs a patron of that experience. Everything is fine until you try to pay your bill and leave. Then they start with the packages that start extremely high valued then will keep reducing with every no thank you they get. It really does cheapen the experience and it feel like if someone sets aside 1hr for the self pampering session, I’d advice them to add on another 15-20 mins just to get through the hard selling talks to get your bill, pay then leave.

Again the nail techs are truly skilled but their hard selling ways just really do turn me away.

5 stars! Excellent service and beautiful nail artwork done by Debbie and Karen. I went to the salon around 7pm after work on a weekday and they were very patient and careful despite working overtime and the shop being closed. But both didn’t rush through their work but did my nail art perfectly!!

Especially A shoutout to Debbie, this is my second time doing gel manicure with her and both times, she did amazing work.

Previously I signed the package with Westgate outlet and I had quite a bad experience there but the N20 team at Takashimaya is so much better! They do not push for sales too much like Westgate and they remain professional and reasonable when I say no! Please keep up the good work! I will be a returning customer!

This outlet at taka feels a lot nicer than the other outlets, ambiance wise! Would like to make special mention of a staff, Nicky who listened so well & understood what I liked and was looking for even though it is unusual. She managed to execute a nail art that I was really happy with & wore at my wedding!

The team that served us was really friendly & nice but was slightly upset w the hard selling that took place at almost every visit despite already having a package & so I had to give them that feedback directly.

The service is great, and they have more frills than at most other salons I’ve been to including a massage chair! Even though I used a Fave voucher to try the place out, they didn’t scrimp on the service or quality which I find a lot of places do.

The only qualm I have is that yes, they do try to sell you the packages. I managed to reject them but if I had a choice to come back, I would. I just don’t appreciate being sold packages if I’ve said no once, but in time, it’s something I’d consider.. if they stop trying!

Overall though it’s a pretty good salon — Meiting and Sharon are amazing at what they do and like someone mentioned before, they remember you.

Are they pushy to sell packages? Yes for sure. But the team is also very friendly, remembers you and most importantly do a great job at mani and pedi.

Debbie does the most amazing manicures, my nails look perfect every time. The rest of the team is also super friendly and accommodating.

The location is very convenient, inside everything is new and clean and the service is great and very professional!
