    This girl at the salon did an ABSOLUTELY AMAZING JOB!!

    Not only they did an amazing hair rebind on my hair, she also advised the cost benefit analysis of doing a keratin treatment Vs or natural rebonding based on my needs and hair length and volume.

    I had a really thick and long hair and it’s pretty hard to do a decent straightening job on my hair but she did an AMAZING JOB!! not only the service they served me with a juice and snack and my fav part was I was able to watch Netflix on the tab without having to break my neck watching something on my own phone. They also gave me an amazing head massage after washing.
    It took total of 3 people to do my hair cause it was a pretty hard job, but overall experience and results are AMAZING!

    Had a fantastic hair color experience at Matsui with Apple! She took the time to understand what I wanted and even shared reference photos to help us clearly define the result to be sure that I would be happy with the result… And I am loving the results! The hair treatment also did wonders for my hair after the bleach and color process. I definitely recommend Apple and also the rest of the team at Matsui for their kind hospitality.

    Superb service and skills by Apple stylist and Pei Xuan! Rare find in bugis+ and random walk-in on a mon midnoon to be served exquisitely by them for a haircut and treatment, finest attitude, great skills and friendly. Made my day very productive and beautifully. Definitely my next go-to salon. Very grateful.

    Highly recommended! 💯 I don’t usually do so for other places, but Matsui Studio is a saloon that I repeatedly go back to, for many years now. All thanks to Chloe for her professionalism and talent! 🙏 It’s very easy communicating my hairstyle needs and getting great advice from her. Aside from haircut, wash, color & treatment, this is also the first and only place I have gotten my awesome Korean hair perm! 😍 The other staff are friendly and I appreciate the tablets at each set for watching Netflix while getting my hair done! 👍

    I would totally recommend this place, service provided by Apple and Pei Xuan everytime I visit was amazing! They make sure that I am well taken care of and are very detailed! I have went there multiple times, my stylist is Apple and she is very professional. Everytime I visit, I just tell her what kind of hair style and hair colour I have in mind and she will get it done to perfection! I will also not get bored while getting my hair done as there was entertainment provided!

    The service here is fantastic. Very accommodating stylist Steve and friendly staff. The shampoo session is the part that you shouldn’t miss. They are giving a great head massage with scalp treatment for just extra $5.

    have been getting my hair cut by kenny for years and always a pleasure! he’s good and always feel at ease having my hair cut by him.

    the assistant’s hair massage is so comforting too— always feel like sleeping during the hair wash 😴

    Worst haircut of my life (3 jun) by the male hair stylist. WORST THAN THOSE NEIGHBOURHOOD SALON THAT CHARGES $12! Paid $45 and walked the F out of this salon and I cant even be bothered to look at the stylist name. Any barber can do a better cut. Next time if you gonna try a new stylist, i strongly recommend to look at the stylist’s hairstyle and judge first. If his hairstyle cannot make it, he probably cant cut well too.

    Afternote: i went to the website to check out the team. The stylist name is Steve. Seriously, 12 years of experience?? Did he spend the past 11 years washing hair only?

    overall a great experience, the stylist and staff were super friendly, made sure i was comfortable throughout. they provided me with a snack, drink and i was able to watch netflix using their tablet. they gave me good advice and genuinely wanted to ensure the service was what i wanted but also what was best for me. my stylist’s name was apple go 🙂 and i’m very happy with the final result. will definitely come back again.

    I’m obsessed!!!! After a fringegate debacle, I researched extensively for a great stylist. And I came across Apple’s portfolio on Instagram. So I decided to take the plunge and I’M GLAD I DID!!! She has gifted hands, a great eye for style, and takes thr time to discuss beforehand. I love love love my hair and I can’t wait to come back.

    I had a great experience at this salon with Apple and her staff! I really wanted blue hair but the salons in California could never get my hair anywhere close to blue. Apple did a consult with me walked me through what shades of blue were achievable. We cut off the damaged portions of my previously bleached hair and did a mermaid blue theme and it looks amazing. I have gotten so many compliments on it back home. The process took about 3-4 hours and costed about $450 USD. If I travel to Singapore again I will definitely come back!

    Kudos to Steve! He’s a very talented hairdresser who did an amazing job with my haircut. I’m really impressed with his skills and attention to detail. My hair looks fantastic, and I couldn’t be happier with the result.

    I also want to mention the excellent hairwash I received from the new team member at the salon. It was by far the best hairwash experience I’ve had. The combination of Steve’s expertise and the great service from the new team member made my visit truly enjoyable.

    I highly recommend Steve and the team at this salon for anyone looking for top-notch hair services. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

    I chanced upon this salon after a quick google search. Reading all the positive Google reviews, the salon seems well trusted and I decided to give it a try. Chloe has many 5 star reviews and customers sing praises of her skills so I was excited to get my haircut done by her.

    I am used to wet cutting but the moment I sat down and explained the haircut I want, she began snipping away at my dry hair (for about 3-5mins?). I was expecting the salon to wash my hair prior to the actual cutting which is why I didnt wash my hair or style my hair at all before coming. I literally went to the salon with my bedhead. My hair had no shape and the ends were sticking out. It surprised me that she felt like she could cut my hair in that state without even spraying water on it to even it out. I do not remember her parting my hair in proper sections to cut the layer systematically. I think it was just a very sloppy eye-power job with no proper planning of how the layers should fall. After a lot of cutting, she proceeded to get her colleague to wash my hair and told me that she will continue the haircut after the wash. However, they immediately dried my hair after the wash and styled it and there was no further blending/cutting other than the 3-5 minutes cutting earlier.. I couldn’t really tell how uneven it was as it was styled/curled when I left the salon. I shouldn’t have expected evenness and blending from a 3-5 mins cut job on dry, bedhead hair.

    I went home, took a shower and realised that my layers were all choppy and uneven. They were not blended together at all. In hindsight, I am pretty sure that it was due to the dry cutting and lack of proper sectioning.

    I went back the next day for her to rectify it. This time, she sprayed some water before before cutting my hair because I had DIY curls and she had to even it out before trying to blend the layers. In order to do this, she had to cut off some length which I did not want but I understood that that was the only way to make the layers more even as the shortest layer was extremely short. The problem is not the shortest layer. The problem is the lack of blending. It just look choppy, unkempt and unprofessionally done.. However, despite the rectification, the damage had already been done from the first cut and I did not see significant blending effects from my second visit.

    Chloe is a super nice person and I enjoyed my conversations with her. Service there is top-notch too but I will definitely NOT be recommending this place to my family and friends. In fact, I’m ashamed to say I paid $58 for a sloppy haircut like this. I am heading to another salon this weekend to try to sort out the unevenness and hopefully the damage can still be rectified with some proper blending. It is likely that they will need to cut off even more length in order to do blend the layers.

    I took really long to grow my hair out to this length and I am devastated by the state it is in now. I was looking forward to liking this place after all the positive reviews and was keen to have made this my regular salon had it gone well. Sad to say, I truly regret the decision to cut my hair here and I wish this salon never popped up in my Google search results 😢

    UPDATE: Matsui has offered for me to head down for another complimentary rectification + treatment. However, I have turned down this offer as I am skeptical to try it again after 2 visits there. Have instead gone to my usual salon for them to fix my hair and have requested for Matsui to refund ($58 haircut) me instead, which they have kindly and promptly done so. Thank you.

    Great experience from Steve and supporting hairstylist William. Steve helped give suggestions on an ideal hair colour and style that I wanted. Staff were also very kind to give packet drinks and snacks during my appointment. Will definitely come back again!

    I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Apple and have her as my hairstylist for years. I can confidently say that she is an absolute gem. Her talent, dedication, and warm personality make every visit to the salon a delightful experience. She has consistently delivered outstanding haircuts and colors. She knows exactly how to enhance my features and bring out the best in me. I’ve never left the salon disappointed.
