    when i entered NOVU, the lady who tended to me was sick. she violently sneezed and coughed at my face throughout my time at NOVU. if that wasnt enough of a welcome, she even coughed with her hand that was holding onto my IC, and she passed it back to me immediately.

    i consulted the doctor who seemed extremely nonchalant about my concerns about the p+ laser. when i first entered and sat down, he was using his phone aggressively and made me look at him for an odd few minutes waiting for him to greet me and acknowledge my presence. his attitude was odd and peculiar but ultimately unprofessional because my questions were not properly answered before i was chased to the next bed to consider if i would like to proceed with the intended treatment that i had enquired about.

    alas we proceeded with the treatment (hydrocleanse, p+ facial, ion infusion).

    when we did the hydrocleanse, the sniffy lady conveniently started her germ buffet. it was a torture to feel squirts of mucus, phlegm and saliva: fyi, she did not wear a mask. after which, she told me to look at my water and “see your (my) gunk”. the water was close to transparent… there was nothing. and she even used her phone’s torchlight. so did i. two intensities of light but we found nothing but 2-3 specks of dust floating which she claimed that it is impossible for the naked eye to find my whiteheads and blackheads. ok fine. felt like a redundant procedure to go through if it didnt clean my skin.

    we proceeded with the p+ laser. the nonchalant doctor scooted over, like he did not want to be at the clinic, to my bed. when he began, it hurt badly. i did tell him. which the sniffy lady and doctor claim was normal. he even increased the intensity of the laser around my eye area because he said i had pigmentation there (… i don’t). that really burnt.

    lastly— with the ion infusion, the sniffy lady had the privilege to give me a finale of germs as she leaned over often sneezing and coughing while i’m right under her (which i believe is the probable reason to why i am now sick). that aside, the hyaluronic acid wasnt properly applied onto my skin. i’ve done ion treatments and they were nothing like this. i guess the machine was not activated. to describe it in short: she put heaps of solution that ran down to the back of my head, my hair and down my neck and décolletage. imagine that. and yes, it was horribly impossible to clean off when i was hurried out of my bed to the waiting area. essentially, it felt like a gimmick done unprofessionally that was an additional $55 of messiness, masked as a treatment to hydrate the skin.

    when i left the clinic, there was no proper follow-up. instead, i found my skin to be very red, irritated, raised and burning for the next 10 days. so i decided to take the initiative to inform them of it. upon looking at my photos, they dismissed my concerns and told me that my red skin was radiant. additionally, they said it was normal that my skin was raised abnormally. i was disappointed. therefore, i went to another aesthetic clinic and the doctor exclaimed that this is not okay. knowing that my skin is naturally flushed, he found that the redness was out of the ordinary and the raised skin around my cheeks were disastrously difficult to look at. he proceeded to treat my horribly bad skin. which subsided and became better about 2 weeks after my treatment with NOVU.

    let me add that booking an appointment was an extremely inefficient process because the general NOVU administrative person told me they were fully booked always. i found that odd because they have so many clinics. thus, i individually called the clinics only to have them tell me that they have slots. horrible.

    if anything, i cant emphasize enough that my skin is worse than it was before i went to NOVU. i can’t undo this but i can only warn whoever that is reading.

    This is my first time done laser treatment. They explained very well to me, all staffs are very friendly. Very good service
