What is Ultherapy, how does it work?
Ultherapy is a U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) cleared, non-invasive skin tightening treatment using ultrasound energy to stimulate the production of collagen.
The treatment targets the dermis and underlying fibromuscular layer that holds the skin in place, without needles, or the need for surgery.
Ultherapy also allows direct visualisation of the tissue that is being treated, so doctors can precisely target the areas to be tightened.
Ultherapy is often chosen as an alternative to facelift surgery.
What are the areas that Ultherapy can be performed on?
Ultherapy helps to:
- Lift and tighten skin naturally on your brows, neck and under the chin.
- Improve appearance of lines and wrinkles on the decolletage
- Stimulate the growth of new collagen deep within your skin
- Achieve a fresher and more youthful look
Benefits of Ultherapy
- Non-invasive treatment
- No downtime
- Building of collagen
- Natural results
- Require only one single treatment
- Improve skin laxity
How long is the treatment, and how long does the effect last?
The length of the treatment will depend on the area being treated and your individual treatment plan. A face and neck procedure typically takes 60-90 minutes, while a chest treatment takes approximately 30 minutes.
Is it painful?, are there any downtime or activities to avoid after Ultherapy?
This procedure can be considered painful or uncomfortable for some but for most people, it is tolerable and the heating sensation only last while the ultrasound energy is being delivered. Numbing cream or painkillers can be given before procedure for individual whom like to feel less. There is little to no downtime. After your procedure, you can resume your normal activities immediately without having to follow any special post-treatment measures. The skin might appear flushed at first, but the redness should disappear within a few hours. Some patients experience slight swelling, tingling or tenderness to the touch, but these are temporary in nature. Other less common post-procedural effects may include temporary bruising or numbness on small areas of skin.
Recommended sessions to see results?
Initial results can be noticed directly after the treatment. Visible lifting, tightening and smoothing of the skin on treated areas can be observed over a 3 months period . Most patients need only one treatment. However, based on the degree of skin laxity, the biological response to ultrasound energy and the individual’s collagen-building process, some patients may benefit from additional treatments.

Unlike the review from the other person, i have gotten good results from Ultherapy. Results developed slowly. By the fourth month my skin lifted tremendously , I have seen an improvement in the definition of my jawline. It is more V now!
Painful and no results. The doctor is inexperienced and showed little concern for his patients. Will not be back.
